The Dilmun Club is very pleased to announce that the Swimming Section will start sessions again on Sunday 17th September and run for 8 weeks until Monday 6th November, for those children who are 4 years old and above by 17th September.
As Dilmun Club members, here is prior notice of the dates to put in your calendars and an invitation to register your children’s interest with the Dilmun Club ahead of the formal registration day on Saturday 9th September – 12.30 to 15.30. If your children have already been swimming with the Dilmun Club Swimming Section, you will also receive an email from the Swimming Section Coordinator, Wedad Jaworski, notifying you of this series of sessions.
So, if you would like to register your child/children for the forthcoming swimming sessions, could you please email Wedad directly at her contact details below, with details of your child’s / children’s current ability and preference for a day (either Sunday or Monday) in order to place them in the correct session. Please note that this is not an alternative to registering in person on 9th September, at which time payment for the complete series of sessions must be made – BD4.000 for each session. This notification now is only to allow the Swimming Section to assess the current demand for places from interested Dilmun Club members.
For those of you whose children have never swum with the Swimming Section before, Wedad, who is a qualified, British Amateur Swimming Association (ASA) coach, has been in charge of the Swimming Section at the Dilmun Club since 2008. Supporting Wedad at the swimming sessions is an experienced team of qualified teachers, a number of whom have already coached at the Dilmun Club before.
Swimmers are allocated a 30 minute lesson on either a Sunday or Monday, at either 4.15 or 4.45, with 60 minute squad training sessions at 5.15, for those stronger swimmers considered capable of a longer and more challenging session, for which swimmers must be at least six years old. Training sessions will cover the range of four strokes available, at your children’s particular level.
Please note that should you or your child decide to withdraw from the swimming sessions following registration on 9th September and the payment of the total fees for the sessions, your payment will be returned minus BD15 for administration fees. This is not a new policy, but has been applied over the last few seasons. Please note that this is not an extra payment made at Registration; it will only be applicable should your child withdraw from swimming once that payment has been made. In addition, The Dilmun Club is unfortunately unable to offer refunds for any sessions subsequently missed, for whatever reason.
Finally, the Swimming Section is very customer-focused. They want your children to achieve the best possible benefit from their swimming sessions, whatever their and your, particular goals are. As they will be working as a team, they hope that the Swimming Section / children / parents will also work together as another team in achieving the best possible results from the forthcoming swimming sessions.
